The ministry issued the statement in reaction to current debates in
Italy's parliament and activities on the international front which
are the results of Croatia's decision to expand its jurisdiction in
the Adriatic.
The statement says Croatia opts for dialogue with Italy and all
other interested parties, including the European Commission, in
order to find solutions which will enable the sustainable use of the
resources as well as the protection of the sea environment and
revival of fish stock in the Adriatic.
Croatia will advocate such solutions at the ministerial conference
in Venice, the statement said, adding that the country would also
advocate the holding of a sub-regional meeting of the Adriatic
countries aimed at finding appropriate solutions.
