Addressing numerous HDZ members and sympathisers in the eastern
Croatian town, Sanader said that upon coming into power, the HDZ
would tackle unemployment, corruption, the external debt, and
farmers' issues.
The HDZ cannot allow a situation in which the import lobby has
imported US$1.2 billion worth of food this year alone, he said.
Sanader criticised the ruling coalition for "humiliating war
veterans and undermining everything that was achieved in the
victorious war".
He called on "even those who are HSS (Croatian Peasant Party)
sympathisers to vote for the HDZ" because "a vote for the HSS is a
vote for the SDP (Social Democratic Party)".
