Also present was Sten Swedlund, former head of the International
Organisation of the Red Cross and the Red Crescent in Croatia in
1995-6.
The interlocutors highlighted the importance of HCK activity since
its establishment, notably in the 1990s Homeland Defence war when
the HCK provided care for a large number of displaced persons and
refugees and helped separated families get back in touch.
The HCK has over 400,000 members in 131 local branches.
