The event, organised by the "George Marshall" Centre for European
Security Studies from Frankfurt and the Croatian Defence Ministry,
brought together 70 participants from Albania, Bulgaria, Croatia,
Greece, Macedonia, Slovenia, and Bosnia-Herzegovina as an
observer.
The purpose of the seminar is to help countries of Southeastern
Europe in their efforts to join NATO and to provide them with
support in reforming their security systems. It is a continuation
of a NATO summit held in Prague in November last year.
The seminar is being attended by Croatian deputy defence minister
Zlatko Gareljic, NATO deputy director for defence operations Frank
Boland and US Ambassador to Croatia Ralph Frank.
