"We will not abandon (our struggle for) civil sovereignty and
national equality, freedom of confession, independence of the
judiciary and the right to work," Djukic told a press conference at
which he presented his party's programme.
Speaking of the SNS's strategic goals, he cited completion of the
return of Serb refugees, restitution of their property, and
resolving the issue of accommodation for temporary occupants of
other people's property and people who have been stripped of their
tenancy rights.
Djukic said his party would continue with efforts to integrate
Serbs into Croatian society, saying that this was a guarantee that
Croatia would embark upon the road of prosperity and association
with the European Union.
Djukic said that after extensive consultations last night his party
handed in a list of candidates for parliamentary elections who
would represent citizens of Croatia living abroad, despite earlier
announcements that such a list would not be submitted. The list is
headed by Djukic and the first candidate on the list is Milorad
Vojvodic.
