ZAGREB, Oct 27 (Hina) - The leader of the Serb People's Party (SNS),
Milan Djukic, has said his party will not nominate candidates in the
Serb diaspora constituency. #L#
The SNS has not received a response from the National Election
Commission to its written enquiry as to who is considered to be part
of the diaspora when it comes to Croatian citizens of Serb origin
living outside Croatia, who can be nominated a candidate on the
diaspora slate, and where voters' registers will be kept, Djukic
said at a news conference on Monday.
The SNS will promote the basic principles of constitutional order,
the completion of the refugee return process, property
restitution, and the right to claim back tenancy rights.
Asked to comment on a recent statement by Assistant Reconstruction
Minister Lovre Pejkovic that the process of return of Croatian Serb
refugees had been completed, Djukic said the statement was
irresponsible because the return process was still underway.
Djukic said that between 45,000 and 50,000 Serbs had returned to
Croatia, and that another 100,000 were expected to return.
