The president said he would support everybody protecting Croatian
interests and contributing to the accomplishment of strategic
goals. He commended the Alliance's efforts to contribute to the
strengthening of the rule of law.
There have been many affairs in Croatia, but courts not have passed
final rulings in any of the cases, which bothers citizens, Mesic
said, adding that people responsible for those affairs could not be
granted amnesty.
He supported affirmative election campaigns, with parties
presenting platforms and voters choosing the ones they considered
the best. Mesic believes that the polarisation of the political
scene is not good, but that regardless of who wins the elections,
they will have to increase exports. Croatia needs "several election
cycles to confirm itself as a democracy", he believes.
Alliance leader Radman said Croatia could achieve its goals as a
modern law-based state of satisfied people. The Alliance offers a
third road between two conflicted blocs, he said. According to
Radman, it is vital to take a critical stand towards social
developments and find a way out of the current situation.
