ZAGREB, Oct 15 (Hina) - The Council of the Federation of Independent
Trade Unions of Croatia (SSSH) on Wednesday relieved Davor Juric of
his duties as president of the Federation and appointed Vesna
Dejanovic acting president. #L#
Dejanovic, who leads the Independent Trade Union of Workers in the
Restaurant Trade and Tourism, will perform her duties as acting
president until February 20 next year when an extraordinary
congress is due to take place in Zagreb.
Juric tendered his resignation last month, citing health reasons.
The crisis that threatened to split Croatia's largest trade union
organisation was temporarily overcome with his resignation. Some
trade unions demanded Juric's dismissal, accusing him of financial
mismanagement and being too conciliatory towards the government.
