the Serbian aggression. #L#
Council chairman Davor Aras recalled the times of twelve years ago,
when the Serb army attacked Zadar from all available weapons for
days.
Residents of Zadar cannot comprehend when General Gotovina is
spoken about with negative connotations because he had done the job
of defending his country in the best possible way, Aras said.
"May dear God protect him, and may he illuminate the prosecution in
The Hague, because General Gotovina did what French generals did
when they liberated their country from Hitler's Germans," said
Aras, whose words were welcomed with a round of applause.
Along with city councillors, today's session was attended by
numerous guests, including two Zadar archbishops - Ivan Prendja and
Marijan Oblak, and Zadar County prefect Sime Prtenjaca.
