MOSTAR: SPAIN TAKES OVER COMMAND OF SFOR IN HERZEGOVINA MOSTAR, Sept 1 (Hina) - Spanish General Marin Bello Crespo on Monday officially took over from Italian General Gian Marco Chiarini the post of commander of the Stabilisation
Force's (SFOR) Multinational Division for Sector South-East, which is based in Mostar. Chiarini was the division's commander in the past six months.
MOSTAR, Sept 1 (Hina) - Spanish General Marin Bello Crespo on Monday
officially took over from Italian General Gian Marco Chiarini the
post of commander of the Stabilisation Force's (SFOR)
Multinational Division for Sector South-East, which is based in
Mostar. Chiarini was the division's commander in the past six

SFOR's Multinational Division Sector South-East is the only of
three such divisions in Bosnia-Herzegovina with rotating
commanders from Western European countries. Until six months ago,
the division was exclusively under French command.
SFOR's Multinational Division Sector Central Bosnia is still under
British command, while the division in Sector North Bosnia is under
US command.
The area of responsibility of SFOR's Multinational Division Sector
South-East covers territory south-east of Sarajevo to the borders
with Montenegro and Croatia.
