LJUBLJANA, Aug 28 (Hina) - Slovene Prime Minister Antun Rop said on Thursday that his country would persist in efforts to protect its interests with regard to Croatia's intention to proclaim an exclusive economic zone in the Adriatic.
He added, however, that he believed that the relations between the two countries would calm down after the coming parliamentary elections in Croatia.
LJUBLJANA, Aug 28 (Hina) - Slovene Prime Minister Antun Rop said on
Thursday that his country would persist in efforts to protect its
interests with regard to Croatia's intention to proclaim an
exclusive economic zone in the Adriatic. He added, however, that he
believed that the relations between the two countries would calm
down after the coming parliamentary elections in Croatia. #L#
"I believe that relations will improve after the elections and that
hard-liners will not prevail on either sides," Rop told the POP-TV
commercial network.
The Slovene government has announced it will oppose the
proclamation of en exclusive economic zone between Italy and
Croatia, and added that the issue should be settled within the
European Union.
