The newly-appointed ambassador said his country expected the
European Union to accept Croatia's candidacy for membership, which
he said "would encourage other countries in the region".
Speaking about the importance of the Adriatic Charter for the
strengthening of friendly relations and overall cooperation
between the two countries, Nesimi said that stronger bilateral
relations would help create an atmosphere for the promotion of
regional cooperation.
The ambassador thanked the Croatian government and president for
the support given to Macedonia during the 2001 crisis.
Mesic said that there were no open questions between Macedonia and
Croatia, but that economic cooperation needed improvement.
