ZAGREB/DIVULJE, Aug 18 (Hina) - Reporting on bushfires on Monday evening, the Croatian Interior Ministry's National Firefighting Centre said a fire which broke out after 5 p.m. in Donja Perjasica near Duga Resa, some 50 km southwest
of Zagreb, had burned about 600 hectares of grass and underbrush.

evening, the Croatian Interior Ministry's National Firefighting
Centre said a fire which broke out after 5 p.m. in Donja Perjasica
near Duga Resa, some 50 km southwest of Zagreb, had burned about 600
hectares of grass and underbrush. #L#
Two abandoned houses and three old economic facilities, as well as
some 900 hectares of grass, in the Janja Gora area near Plaski
burned in a fire during the afternoon.
A fire which caught underbrush and woodland in an inaccessible area
of the northern Adriatic island of Cres around 4 p.m. was contained
at 06.30 p.m. It was established the fire was started deliberately.
The perpetrator was arrested.
Firefighters were also able to contain at 1750 hours a fire which
broke out near Baderna between Porec and Pazin in Istria earlier in
the afternoon.
A fire which yesterday spread from southern Bosnia to Vrgorac in
southern Croatia's Split-Dalmatia County is still active, having
burned about 200 hectares of underbrush on inaccessible land.
