PLOCE, Aug 9 (Hina) - Prime Minister Ivica Racan said on Saturday that Croatia wanted to resolve the issue of establishing an exclusive economic zone in the Adriatic Sea in cooperation with the European Union and its neighbours. "It's
almost irrelevant whether it will be an economic zone or a fishing zone. We want to and have to resolve this in cooperation with the EU and our Adriatic neighbours," Racan briefly told Hina in Ploce. Asked to comment on a meeting of some political parties from Slovenia and Serbia in Belgrade two days ago regarding the delimitation of borders in the Adriatic, the prime minister said: "Yes, I know about that meeting, but I'd rather not comment on such nonsense." The meeting was initiated by Slovene far-right leader Zmago Jelincic who demands that the sea be divided among successor states of the former Yugoslavia.
