by the national daily Delo on Saturday. #L#
Asked to assess the readiness of Slovenia to join the EU, 51.7
percent of respondents have said Slovenia is insufficiently
prepared for it, while 34.5 percent believe its readiness is good.
Almost a half of respondents, namely 49.4 percent of a total of 700
respondents, believe that Slovenia may reach the average economic
development and standard of living of leading European countries in
ten years' time. However, 16.4 percent of the respondents maintain
Slovenia will need five years to reach that goal, while the rest say
it will need 20 years or more.
