ZAGREB ZAGREB, July 31 (Hina) - An agreement on the restitution of the building of a former hospital for pulmonary diseases in downtown Osijek to the previous owner, Djakovo-Sirmium Catholic Diocese, was signed on Thursday in the
offices of the Croatian government in Zagreb.

building of a former hospital for pulmonary diseases in downtown

The building was confiscated from the diocese in 1945. After it is
given back to the Catholic Church, it will be used for pastoral
services, according to participants in today's ceremony of the
signing of the document.
Croatian Deputy Prime Minister Goran Granic said the agreement
settled a part of problems in the restitution of the nationalised
property, which used to be owned by the Church.
Besides, the government will also give some compensation to the new
hospital in the eastern city of Osijek, for the old building which
has been abandoned for a few years.
