However, the four parties remain unanimous in their stand that the
government "has breached every democratic standard" and that "what
it has done with the privatisation of INA is unheard of in a
democracy," said Mate Granic, president of the Democratic Centre
(DC).
Asked if the unity of the four opposition parties had cracked at
today's meeting, Granic said Social Liberals (HSLS) president
Drazen "Budisa had strong arguments for the opposition not to show
up at parliament's extraordinary session tomorrow".
Granic and Croatian Party of Rights (HSP) president Anto Djapic
said the DC and the HSP would most likely attend the session at which
MPs, at the opposition's initiative, should debate the sale of 25
percent plus one INA share to Hungary's MOL.
The leaders of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) said
unofficially the party would attend the session.
Budisa declined to comment on today's opposition meeting, saying
the HSLS would make a statement at a news conference tomorrow.
Granic said it was unimportant whether the opposition would take
part in the debate on the privatisation of INA because the
government had already signed an agreement with the Hungarian
partner.
