The deal is worth 100,000 euros which will be spent on the internal
decoration and equipment of a future maritime educational centre on
the northern Adriatic island of Losinj which will promote the
protection of dolphins and the sea.
The institute was established as a non-governmental organisation
in 1999 by a group of researchers who have been studying dolphins
since 1987. Today the institute employs 15 people who study
dolphins and work on other projects related to the exploration and
protection of the sea.
The MOL oil company often sponsors environmental protection
projects and works on reducing the negative impact of its products
on the environment, officials said at the signing ceremony.
