According to a 1991 census, there were some 800,000 Croats in Bosnia
at the time, while according to statistics released by the Catholic
Church in that country, there are now only 400,000.
The most dramatic situation is in the parts of Banja Luka Diocese in
the Bosnian Serb entity where of the pre-war 80,000 Croats only
about 10,000 have remained.
