WASHINGTON, May 14 (Hina) - Croatia as a country of good food and
wine and one of European tourist destinations worth visiting was
presented at an event organised by the US magazine National
Geographic in Washington on Tuesday. #L#
European tourist destinations - Italy, Spain, Luxembourg and
Croatia - were presented yesterday at the magazine's headquarters
at a lecture and tasting of food and drinks.
Rudy Maxa, a reporter with National Public Radio, and Daisuke
Utagawa, a cook and owner of Washington's SushiKo restaurant,
hosted the gourmet travel across Europe.
The November/December 2002 issue of National Geographic Travelers
Magazine offers Maxa and Utigawa's culinary experience gathered
during their tour of Mediterranean countries.
The Croatian Embassy in Washington and the Croatian Tourism Board
office in New York showed to several hundred visitors the country's
famous tourist destinations Dubrovnik and Zagreb, as well as its
Mediterranean and continental cuisine.
The event was also attended by Croatian Ambassador Ivan Grdesic.
