Claiming he spoke on behalf of the association of disabled war
veterans (HVIDR) and war veterans' associations from Sinj, Drazen
Pavlovic today stated he had a message from the Cetina region for
President Stjepan Mesic, Prime Minister Ivica Racan and Josip
Manolic "and others - may they join comrade Djindjic for breakfast
as soon as possible because that is the only way the Croatian state
for which we fought can be saved".
Serbian Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic was killed earlier this month
in Belgrade in an assassination believed to have been organised by
local mobsters.
Stressing that all disputes should be settled exclusively in a
democratic and lawful way, Crnic said "it is inadmissible to apply
any violent methods in confronting people who have a different
opinion".
"All bodies of state authority must act so as to ensure the rule of
law as the greatest value of the Croatian constitutional order,"
Crnic said.
"I therefore most harshly condemn calls for violence regardless of
who makes them, because they jeopardise the democratic development
of our state and harm the interests of Croatian citizens."
