UDBINA, Dec 24 (Hina) - A Christmas tree was placed and decorated in
the heart of Udbina on Friday, despite a ban a few days ago by the leaders of
this municipality 60 km northeast of the central coastal city of Zadar.The tree was placed by the local municipal service in line with an
agreement between local parish priest Nediljko Knezovic and municipal head
Stanko Momcilovic of the Serb People's Party.
Independent presidential candidate Ljubo Cesic Rojs announced that he
and members of his election headquarters would place a Christmas tree in the
centre of Udbina this afternoon and guard it overnight so that no one might
remove it.
