Miksic's candidacy has been supported by the Croatian Democratic Republican Party, which organised a news conference in Sinj.
Miksic told reporters that he was financing his campaign on his own. Asked what he would do if elected president, Miksic said that he would cancel the agreement on the Druzba Adria project, call a referendum on EU entry, and publish what he called secret contracts on the sale of leading companies such as the INA oil company, Croatian Telecommunications, and banks.
He also said that he would give 50 percent of the presidential salary for humanitarian purposes, cut the budget of the President's Office by 50 percent, and insist on abolishing politicians' privileges.
