The HNS leader believes that apart from the runaway general Ante Gotovina, the main problem for Croatia is its instrumental, organisational and logistical unpreparedness for the talks in light of the fact that negotiating teams have not been formed yet.
"We want to start that process and we urge establishing negotiating teams as soon as possible, because it must not happen to Croatia not to have negotiating teams when it is given a date for the start of entry talks," Pusic told reporters.
This issue is of basic national interest and it must not be a matter of dispute between the authorities and the opposition, Pusic said.
She said that the HNS had nominated potential candidates to head the negotiating teams, who had agreed to their nomination in principle. The party has also proposed holding a meeting with the ambassadors of EU members' neighbours, drawing up a strategy on how to use EU pre-accession funds, and establishing coordination with EU countries.
