ZAGREB, Oct 27 (Hina) - The Croatian Party of Rights (HSP) club of
parliamentary deputies on Wednesday called on Prime Minister Ivo Sanader to
call presidential elections as soon as possible, warning him that until the
elections were called and the State Electoral Commission became operational, it
was impossible to ensure a fair election campaign which, according to HSP
officials, had already started."This is a strange period because the election commission is not active
and a fair campaign cannot be ensured," Slaven Letica, independent member of
the HSP club of deputies and independent election candidate, told a news
conference in the parliament.
In order to ensure a fair election campaign, Letica said he would put
forward a proposal to all presidential candidates that the upper limit of funds
to be spent in the campaign be two million kuna,
