PRISTINA, Nov 22 (Hina) - The Democratic League of Kosovo and theAlliance for the Future of Kosovo have reached an agreement on thedivision of departments in the future government, under whichrepresentatives of the Serb minority will
be in charge of twoministries if they decide to participate in the government, officialsof the two parties announced on Sunday evening.
PRISTINA, Nov 22 (Hina) - The Democratic League of Kosovo and the
Alliance for the Future of Kosovo have reached an agreement on the division of
departments in the future government, under which representatives of the Serb
minority will be in charge of two ministries if they decide to participate in
the government, officials of the two parties announced on Sunday evening.Under the agreement, a prime minister will be nominated by the Alliance
for the Future of Kosovo, whose leader Ramush Haradinai has been cited so far
as the only candidate for the post. This party is expected to run four
ministries.
The Democratic League of Kosovo, led by Ibrahim Rugova, will appoint a
president of Kosovo, a speaker of parliament, and a deputy prime minister, and
will be in charge of six ministries.
One ministry will be run by non-Serb minorities.
Other modalities of cooperation between the Democratic League of Kosovo
and the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo are expected to be revealed later on
Monday, and the new government is to be formed by Wednesday.
