Contractual employee Sanja Kupresak received a decision dated November 17 on her withdrawal due to possible violations of the Vienna Convention and the laws on foreign affairs and civil servants, the same source said. A commission has been set up to probe into the case and Kupresak's activities.
Article 42 of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1964 states that a diplomatic agent must not perform in the receiving state any professional or technical activity for the purposes of personal gain.
Contractual employee Vibor Kalogjera received a decision dated November 19 ordering that he be withdrawn from his post in Washington following the discovery of facts indicating possible violations of the Law on Foreign Affairs and the Law on Civil Servants. A commission has been set up to investigate the case, the office said.
According to the media, Kupresak is a co-owner of some companies in Prague. The Nacional weekly has quoted the Foreign Ministry as saying that the procedure to employ Kupresak was launched by former foreign minister Tonino Picula and completed by his successor Miomir Zuzul.
The Croatian press has recently reported that Vibor Kalogjera is the author of an on-line diary in which he used inappropriate and vulgar language to describe his official activities and made remarks about some US officials.
