Speaking at a press conference, Ferencak said that the new leadership of the Liberal Party (LS) had announced that its unification with the HNS and Libra would be delayed.
Asked if the LS would be given a deadline by which it should declare whether or not it supported the proposed unification with the HNS and Libra, Ferencak said that no methods of coercion would be applied during negotiations.
He, however, added that the LS "remains hostage to its Osijek branch" and that it was now up to the new LS leadership to realise its position and act accordingly.
Commenting on the alleged involvement of Foreign Minister Miomir Zuzul in a corruption scandal, member of Parliament and HNS member Antun Kapraljevic said: "I believe we will gather enough votes for Zuzul's dismissal. Should Prime Minister Sanader say that in the event of Zuzul's resignation the whole government would step down, I believe the entire Opposition will have enough courage to give a vote of no-confidence in the government."
Kapraljevic stressed that it was important for Croatia to grapple with cases of corruption and conflict of interest.
