"The government cannot comment on private transactions by spouses of government members," government spokesman Ratko Macek briefly told Hina on Wednesday evening.
Some of the newspapers said in their Thursday editions that there had been five transactions worth 143,000 kuna in all between the two firms, which prompted the former head of the Commission on Conflict of Interest to call for Zuzul's resignation in Parliament on Wednesday.
The media reports disproved the allegations made by Minister Zuzul earlier on Wednesday that there had been no transactions between his wife's foreign trade and consulting firm and the firm owned by Ivan Karin.
