During question time in parliament, Kosor told deputies the government would appoint the ombudsman and added that all programmes of assistance for the disabled would be completed this year.
Kosor also announced a number of projects by which the government, in cooperation with local self-government units, plans to help the elderly. She said those projects were launched due to the expected "explosion" of the population older than 65.
The minister said that projects aimed at assisting the elderly in their homes, which the government launched in cooperation with Caritas and the Red Cross, was being realised. The project includes about 9,000 people in nine counties, Kosor said and added that other counties would be included in the project next year.
