Croatian government increases a number of court fees

Autor: mses
ZAGREB, April 14 (Hina) - The Croatian government on Thursday proposed a rise in court fees and fees paid to obtain land registry certificates and make entries in land books.

One of the purposes of the increase in court fees is to stimulate out-of-court settlements and reduce the burden on courts.

The government also sent to parliament draft amendments to the access to information law, after the Constitutional Court recently established that the existing law had not been adopted by the required qualified majority.

The government also sent to parliament draft amendments to the civil procedure law with the aim of expediting civil actions.

The government tasked the Financial Agency (FINA) with processing data for a registry of public sector employees.

Administration Minister Davorin Mlakar said that the registry would cover more than 240,000 people and that the value of this project was HRK 35.39 million. The costs of the project will be paid in installments over a period of three years.
