due to poorly conducted blood tests in theCroatian Transfusion Medicine Institute in 2000 and 2001.
ZAGREB, Oct 27 (Hina) - A World Health Organisation (WHO) expert is
to arrive in Croatia on Thursday at the invitation of the Croatian Health
Ministry to investigate suspicions that some blood receivers have been infected
with syphilis due to poorly conducted blood tests in the Croatian Transfusion
Medicine Institute in 2000 and 2001.WHO's Alan Kitchen , the head of the department for transfusion
microbiology of Great Britain's National Blood Service, liaison officer with
the WHO Antoinette Kaic Rak told Hina on Wednesday.
Kitchen is expected to draw up a report within two weeks.
