"Of course, the entry conditions are the same for all candidates," Jansa said, adding that Slovenia had met those conditions and expected Croatia to do likewise.
Jansa said that his country would try to resolve all outstanding issues with Croatia through bilateral negotiations.
"We are already preparing some initiatives for the for next term," he said, adding that efforts would also be made through cooperation with Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader and his HDZ party within the European People's Party (EPP).
"But I am not optimistic. I think some open issues between the two countries are to difficult and have lasted too long to be able to be resolved overnight," Jansa said.
