BELGRADE, Oct 3 (Hina) - Runoff polls began at 07.00 hours Sunday inSerbia to elect new mayors of Belgrade, Novi Sad, Nis and Kragujevacand the presidents of 145 municipalities throughout the country asparliamentary elections in the
northern province of Vojvodina whereanother 60 deputies are to be elected.
BELGRADE, Oct 3 (Hina) - Runoff polls began at 07.00 hours Sunday in
Serbia to elect new mayors of Belgrade, Novi Sad, Nis and Kragujevac and the
presidents of 145 municipalities throughout the country as parliamentary
elections in the northern province of Vojvodina where another 60 deputies are
to be elected.Almost every campaign is being fought between the two most successful
parties in the first round of voting -- Boris Tadic's Democratic Party (DS) and
the right-wing extremist Radical Party (SRS), led by ICTY indictee Vojislav
Seselj.
The first election round was held on September 19
Polls will close at 20.00 hours and preliminary unofficials results are
expected around 22.00 hours.
