Djukanovic met in Podgorica on Wednesday with Stefan Lene, advisor to the European Union's High Representative for the Common Foreign and Defence Policy, and Reinhard Priebe, director for Western Balkans of the European Commission's Directorate General for External Relations, the Montenegrin government's public relations office said in a statement.
The officials said they expected the implementation of the two-track policy to help Serbia and Montenegro overcome the current stalemate in its EU integration.
Djukanovic said that the essence of the strategy was for the EU to sign a Stabilisation and Association Agreement with the state union of Serbia and Montenegro, but with two protocols which would be negotiated by the two member-states depending on which issues are within their individual jurisdiction.
