The talks between the two presidents focused on European integration processes and the liberalisation of the visa regime.
Iliescu and Marovic said that representatives of the two countries' foreign and interior ministries reached an agreement on several measures which should facilitate the liberalisation of the existing visa regime. The measures foresee a simpler visa issuing procedure, the introduction of free visas for some categories, the opening of Romanian consulate in Vrsac and a joint request which Romania and Serbia and Montenegro would forward to Brussels seeking technical assistance in the modernisation of the visa issuing system.
