HNS party holds round table debate on Croatia's economic prospects

Autor: mses
ZAGREB, April 12 (Hina) - The Croatian People's Party (HNS) leader, Radimir Cacic, has said that there is full consensus that a better and fairer society is based on a strong and successful economy.

It is necessary to increase employment through a strong economic growth and more efficient state administration, Cacic said at a round table discussion which his party organised in Zagreb on Tuesday, focusing on economic prospects and aspects of fiscal and monetary policies and investments.

As regards the tax and monetary reforms, Cacic propose the tax reliefs for re-invested profit.

Social Democratic Party member Branko Grcic also called for state intervention in reducing tax burden on the economy and in ensuring direct state support to new employment as well as in new state investment projects in energy, transport and logistics sectors.

Economic analyst Zarko Primorac warned that Croatia's recovery from the economic crisis was slower than in other transition countries as Croatia based its growth on the domestic consumption which was in a deep recession due to cuts in salaries and lay-offs.
