LJUBLJANA, Aug 13 (Hina) - Slovene opposition parties are satisfied
with the fact that Janez Potocnik, European Commission from Slovenia, was put
in charge of science and research and not the EU enlargement which was the
priority of the Slovene government and Potocnik himself."The results for Slovenia are better than what the Slovene government
expected," the president of Democratic Party (SDS) -- Slovenia's leading
Opposition party -- Janez Jansa told reporters.
Jansa said that had Potocnik been elected commissioner for EU
enlargement he would have been a minister without a portfolio given that he
would manage funds for future members and Slovenia would not benefit from
it.
