entity, Macedonia, Albania, andthe U.N. Mission to Kosovo said in Podgorica on Tuesday.
PODGORICA, Aug 10 (Hina) - The security of the Olympic Games in
Athens is a special challenge and a priority task for all police structures in
the region, the chiefs of police from Montenegro, Serbia, Bosnia-Herzegovina,
the Bosnian Serb entity, Macedonia, Albania, and the U.N. Mission to Kosovo
said in Podgorica on Tuesday.
They held a meeting in the Montenegrin capital at which they agreed to
strengthen cooperation in the tracing and breaking of criminal rings as well as
in the prevention of terrorist acts.
A joint statement read the regional police chiefs had agreed to exchange
information in timely fashion and organise joint operations in cooperation with
the international community.
Similar police conferences will be held every three months, with the next
one scheduled to take place in Albania, the chiefs of police agreed.
