Slovene Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel said that European
Commissioner on Foreign Affairs Chris Patten said the process of
drawing up of the avis for Macedonia, which submitted its membership
application in March, would last longer than it did in Croatia's case.
The ministers also endorsed a European Commission's report on progress
of the Stabilisation and Association Process (SAP) in Southeast
Europe.
In Late March the European Commission issued the third annual report
on progress in three countries included in the SAP --
Bosnia-Herzegovina, Serbia and Montenegro, Macedonia, and Albania --
while assessment of Croatia's progress this year was included in the
European Commission's avis.
