Tuesday following a meeting of representatives of the two countries'

Describing bilateral relations between the two countries as very good,
the chairman of the Croatian Parliament's Foreign Policy Committee,
Neven Jurica, congratulated the visiting Macedonian parliamentarians
on their country's application for EU membership and said that Croatia
was ready to provide assistance through advice and exchanges of
experience.
Jurica said Croatia would back Macedonia's candidacy for membership of
the UN Economic and Social Council in 2004 and that Croatia expected
Macedonia's support for its candidacy for a nonpermanent member of the
UN Security Council in 2008/2009.
The chairwoman of the Macedonian Parliament's Foreign Policy
Committee, Teuta Arifi, said there were no outstanding issues between
the two countries and called for boosting cooperation, especially
transport links.
Noting that foreign relations and Euro-Atlantic integration processes
were priorities of her country, Arifi said it was necessary to
additionally encourage cooperation between the parliamentary foreign
policy committees of Croatia and Macedonia.
Arifi extended an invitation to the Croatian Foreign Policy Committee
to visit Macedonia, which Jurica accepted, the statement concluded.
