In his speech Sanader stressed that Croatia had always belonged in
Europe and met the conditions required for EU membership, the
government said in a press release.
He added that Croatia expected the start date of membership
negotiations to also be set in June.
Sanader also held talks with Bavaria's minister for the economy,
infrastructure, transport and technology, Otto Wiesheu, during which
he invited Bavarian business people to exploit the advantages of
Croatia's geostrategic position and favourable macroeconomic
indicators.
Wiesheu recalled that many Bavarian companies were doing business in
Croatia and said interest was high among new investors, primarily for
investment in the transport infrastructure, ports and tourism.
Croatian Culture Minister Bozo Biskpic, who also visited Munich, met
Bavaria's Culture and Education Minister Monika Hohlmeier. They agreed
bilateral cooperation should be intensified.
