Seks spoke about stabilisation and progress in Southeast Europe and
congratulated Slovenia on joining the EU. He also stressed the
importance of the European Commission's positive avis on Croatia's EU
membership application.
"The avis is giving an additional encouragement and enthusiasm to our
optimism and we expect Croatia to be granted candidate status and be
invited to start negotiations on full membership," Seks said.
Speaking about the importance of European integration processes for
the stabilisation of the region, Seks said Croatia was setting a very
good example of how clear objectives and an individual approach in
evaluating candidate countries had an extremely important role.
"We want our example to serve as a bridge in the further strengthening
of Europe's unity," Seks said speaking about Croatia's successes in
drawing closer to the EU.
