"Croatian hauliers cannot seek damages for waiting at the border
crossing," the "Finance" business newspaper cited in its Friday issue
the opinion of the government department in charge of border
crossings.
Government spokesman Gregor Krajc declined to comment on the
difficulties created by the introduction of a new electronic customs
clearance system.
As for the construction of some border crossings being behind
schedule, Krajc said: "The blame is shared by Brussels and
Ljubljana."
Slovenia is awaiting funds from the Phare programme to complete the
construction of border crossings. Kranjc said he expected the
Macelj-Gruskovje crossing to function normally in the autumn.
