Croatian Interior Ministry spokesman Zlatko Mehun told Hina that the
Interpol branch office in Skopje yesterday issued an international
warrant for the arrest of Boskovski on suspicion that he had ordered
the murder of seven immigrants -- six Pakistanis and one Indian -- in
March 2002 when he was Macedonian interior minister.
The Zagreb branch office of Interpol informed their colleagues in
Skopje that Croatia could apprehend and extradite Boskovski as he had
dual Macedonian-Croatian citizenship, Mehun said, adding that Croatian
authorities did not know the current whereabouts of Boskovski.
He explained that under Croatian law, citizens of Croatia, for whose
arrest an international warrant is issued, cannot be arrested as long
as the country which has issued the warrant does not let Croatia take
over the case.
