Skare Ozbolt informed Van den Hout about the ministry's work and
preparations for the judicial reform. She also pointed to the need for
Croatian courts to start using alternative ways of settling disputes,
primarily arbitration.
Van den Hout welcomed positive changes in the Croatian judiciary,
especially the project of reform as one of the basic preconditions for
Croatia's admission to the EU.
The two officials agreed that there were no obstacles to Croatia using
the services offered by the Standing Arbitration Court, given that it
is a member of the Convention on the Peaceful Settlement of
International Disputes.
