BELGRADE, May 3 (Hina) - Milorad Lukovic aka Legija, the principal indictee in the assassination of Serbian Premier Zoran Djindjic and former commander of Serbia's special police units, surrendered to the police on Sunday evening, the
head of the Serbian Interior Ministry's Public Security Sector, Miroslav Milosevic, confirmed.
BELGRADE, May 3 (Hina) - Milorad Lukovic aka Legija, the principal
indictee in the assassination of Serbian Premier Zoran Djindjic and
former commander of Serbia's special police units, surrendered to the
police on Sunday evening, the head of the Serbian Interior Ministry's
Public Security Sector, Miroslav Milosevic, confirmed.#L#
According to Milosevic, Lukovic surrendered at his home in Belgrade,
after which he was taken to the city's central prison.
According to unofficial sources, before the arrest, Lukovic, who had
been on the run for more than a year, talked to the commander of the
Serbian gendarmerie, Goran Radosavljevic, with whom he agreed
conditions of his surrender.
