Karlovac County prefect Vlado Jelkovec.

Shamsian and the first secretary of the Iranian Embassy, Samad Ali
Lakizadeh, visited the central Croatian town of Karlovac on Friday and
held talks with Karlovac County prefect Vlado Jelkovec.#L#
The Iranian officials also visited the eastern part of Karlovac County
with a sizeable Bosniak Muslim population.
The meeting with the prefect, which was closed to the public, was also
attended by representatives of the Islamic religious community and the
community of Bosniaks in Karlovac County, Azim Efendi Durmic and Osman
Fajkovic.
After the talks, Ambassador Shamsian said Croatia and Iran had signed
over 20 agreements. He expressed hope Karlovac County would in the
near future establish cultural and economic cooperation with one of
the Iranian provinces.
