The country's 1,700,000 eligible voters will choose between the
incumbent prime minister and leader of the Social-Democratic Alliance,
Branko Crvenkovski, and Sasko Kedev, candidate of the VMRO-DPMNE
party. Crvenkovski, who won eight percent more votes than Kedev in the
first round, is considered the favourite. He will be supported by
ethnic Albanians who were called to vote for him by the Democratic
Union for Integration, a coalition partner in the government.
