Croatia, the 'Ibn Sina' institute and the Ilsamic centre in Zagreb .
ZAGREB, April 22 (Hina) - On the occasion of the 17th anniversary of
the opening of the mosque and Islamic centre in Zagreb, a symposium on
challenges to monotheism of Abrahamism was organised on Thursday by
the Islamic community in Croatia, the 'Ibn Sina' institute and the
Ilsamic centre in Zagreb .#L#
The head of the Islamic community in Croatia, Mufti Sevko Efendi
Omerbasic voiced satisfaction with the fact that the construction of
the mosque and the centre made it possible for the Islamic faithful to
be more active. At the symposium, Omerbasic said that relations
between religions were important in the entire construction of
relations in society. He added that dignitaries of religious
communities must promote tolerance among peoples and religions.
Present at the event were Auxiliary Zagreb (Catholic) Bishop Vlado
Kosic, the leader of the Serb Orthodox Church in Croatia, Metropolitan
Jovan, Julija Kos on behalf of the Chief Rabbi for Croatia Kotel
Da-Don, Aleksandar Tolnauer on behalf of the Government's office for
Ethnic Minorities, and several representatives of Protestant
churches.
